Hi, I’m Timothy Hughes. I am a blood-bought follower of Christ and I love studying and sharing what the Bible teaches. I earned a PhD in NT in 2015 and currently serve as an adjunct Bible teacher and executive assistant at Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC.

I try to post at least once a week on topics related to the intersection of NT theology and ministry in the 21st century. You’ll see articles about the life and ministry of Paul, the Pastoral Epistles, recommended resources for NT studies, and other topics I encounter in my own spiritual and professional life.

Some of what I post here is based on ideas I grappled with as I wrote my dissertation, Meet for the Master’s Use: The Relationship between the Minister’s Sanctification and Ministry Effectiveness in the Teaching of the Pastoral Epistles. While I wrote, I worked full time assisting the dean of BJU Seminary. I was immersed in the Pastorals and surrounded by young men training for ministry. After I finished my doctoral work in 2015, I continued to work at BJU, where I am privileged to mentor students for ministry as well as teach Greek and New Testament courses on the graduate and undergraduate levels. I am taking what I have learned from the pages of the NT and combining it with what I am learning day by day as I continue to live, work, and minister in a ministry training environment. And I am glad to share that with you!
